Hong Kong

A couple friends with Hong Kong PD after a meetings. They made sure everything was taken care of when I moved around to see some of the sights. They were great guys and I used to call them Yin and Yang because they seemed like opposites.
The Pininsula Hotel
I have stayed at both the Regent and Pininsula.
The Pininsula became my favorite after an introduction to a close friend there.

A Junk in Victoria Harbor

One minute you could be on a 10 cent ride on the Star Ferry in Victoria Harbo and the next in a Rolls Royce from the Regent or Pininsula touring the city.

The Star Ferry
Back then you could ride the ferry from Kowloon to Hong Kong island for 10 cents.

A view of Hong Kong island approaching on the Star Ferry.

This was final approach coming into the old Hong Kong International Airport. Pilots used to say it was one of the most challenging airports in the world to land at because you really have to drill down to clear the mountains and skyscrappers at the end of the runway and stick it on the runway. Anyone who has ever made that final approach and landing knows what I'm talking about. Hong Kong is special and you know that as you clear the roof tops to land.
